Servicemembers Civil Relief Act

The Servicemembers Civil Relief Act (SCRA), formerly known as the Soldiers’ and Sailors’ Civil Relief Act (SSCRA), is a federal law that provides protections for military members as they enter active duty. Any active servicemember or any individual to whom the servicemember provided over 50% financial support in the prior 180 days (spouse, parent, child, and other dependent) is eligible to receive certain benefits and protections under the SCRA. These benefits include an interest rate reduction to 6% and protection against repossession without a court order.

SAFCO recognizes and appreciates all that you do for our country and therefore make every attempt for you to be afforded these benefits and protections with as much ease as possible. That is why we proactively search the Department of Defense Manpower Data Center website which provides a list of active servicemembers that we can link to active accounts. If eligible, SAFCO will code your account as such and adjust the interest rate accordingly. You will immediately begin enjoying the benefits and protections under the SCRA. However, if you feel that you are entitled to coverage under the SCRA but have not been identified as such, please speak with one of our dedicated SCRA Specialists. You can provide your activation orders if they are readily available or answer just a few simple questions so that we may research on your behalf.

Should you wish to speak with one of our SCRA Specialists, please call 1-407-403-6918 from 8:30 AM until 9:00 PM EST, Monday through Friday and from 8:30 AM until 12:30 PM EST on Saturday. You can also email us at SCRA@GoSAFCO.com.

Thank you for your service.
