Southern Automotive Finance Co. is poised for strong future growth. We’re looking for a highly-qualified automotive Risk Manager who will be tasked with building our Credit Risk Department in support of our portfolio. The ideal candidate will have a strong mathematical background, be interested in quantitative techniques and risk analysis, and have previous experience in automotive credit risk modeling.
Duties and responsibilities for this position include creating valuation models (i.e., spread and default risk) for the Company’s portfolio, working with senior leadership to structure portfolio pricing, and providing an independent view of portfolio risk. Candidates must be familiar with current automotive finance market dynamics, credit risk analysis software programs, and credit risk challenges related to subprime auto finance.
QUALIFICATIONS
The ideal candidate will possess the following skill set:
- A finance, mathematics, or related undergraduate degree is required. An MBA/Masters is a plus. Formal commercial/corporate credit training is strongly preferred.
- A minimum of five years experience in automotive finance risk analysis experience is required.
- A detailed understanding of the auto finance industry, processes, and practical business applications, and ability to articulate ideas and develop recommendations under uncertainty and regarding “gray areas.”
- Ability to obtain data and information from disparate sources, link and analyze this information, perform data integrity checks, and conduct analysis.
- Competency in MS Office, SAS, and other risk modeling programs is required, along with an ability to quickly learn new programs and applications.
- Strong organizational, verbal, and written communication skills, be able to work effectively in a team environment, and be able to communicate effectively with senior leadership and external stakeholders.
